On January 23rd 2012, we want to wish all of our Chinese Friends a very Happy New Year 4710! This year is the year of the Dragon. The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
The Week of Prayer takes place every year in January. In 2012, its theme will be: "Every one of us will be changed by the victory of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Victory is not expressed in terms of "winner" or "loser", but is possible for everyone through mutual support and solidarity. Thus, the ones who are forgotten and excluded are no longer the losers of the world.
A victorious life of faith is therefore defined through a social commitment experienced in unity, in a spirit of faithful and humble service to the Gospel. To work together for a better world, without rivalry or competition, is testimony to true victory for the disciples and for the world. This victory is Jesus Christ's victory, and everyone will be changed by it
Pope Benedict XVI emphasizes creating "a place of prayer for all the peoples," a place where the men and women of our times can in some way get closer to God, especially those who do not really know him. For this to be accomplished, little importance must be placed on the differences between the Christian denominations. It is by uniting our efforts that we might better reach the men and women of our times.
May the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity help us to surpass all limits in order to allow Christ to reach today's world.

Part 2 – Movie Night
We have received great reviews from those who attended the first evening, saying that it was well worth coming out in the storm. The next evening will be Saturday Jan. 28th at 7pm. For those who are attending the 5pm Mass, we will provide a light supper. Don’t’ hesitate to come out, even if you missed the first evening, as each episode deals with a unique topic of the faith.

Deacon Jason Piper was ordained to the priesthood on January 20, at St. Patrick’s Basilica by Jean-Claude Cardinal Turcotte.
