A New Liturgical Year and a New Translation of the Holy Mass.

“Just as we celebrate a birthday or a wedding anniversary each year, so too the Liturgy celebrates over the course of the year the most important events in Christian salvation history. These events, ‘memories’ of Jesus’ life and teachings are simultaneously encounters with the living God. (Youcat #185)

“The Church year, which makes present and portrays anew the life of Christ, is mankind’s greatest work of art; and God has acknowledged it and allows it year after year, always granting it new light, as though one were encountering it for the first time.
(Jochen Klepper 1903-1942, German writer)

This advent we begin a new liturgical year awaiting with joy the coming of Christ, not just at his birth date but for his second coming. The New translation of the mass can help us enter into the mystery of Christ’s coming, for the Eucharist is the summit of our Christian life. It is Christ with us, and within us. The greater focus on scripture in the new translation can help us focus on the Gift of God’s Son. Advent Mission

Christmas Baskets; A December Project.
This year we hope to help many more people in need in our community. It is only through generous supporters that we are able to meet the demand.
How can you help?
Volunteering- We are looking for parishioners to help prepare the baskets and help with delivery. Please contact the rectory to leave your information.
Donations - Groceries are getting more expensive for all of us. Since, we purchase a lot of supplies and groceries for this project, your donation can go a long way
Food Drive - We will be collecting non-perishable food items at each mass and at Christmas Dance, December 10, we can also provide you with a bag to fill with food.
Toys: In the coming weeks you will notice a Christmas tree at the back of the church. Tied to the tree will be small scrolls with a child’s gender and age. Help us by purchasing an appropriate toy for that specific child. Please DO NOT wrap the gifts.
