The 2010 Missals are available at the back of the church ~ feel free to use them during Mass. Should you wish to take a copy home, it would be appreciated if a donation of $4.00 be put in an envelope and put in the Collection Basket. Thank you!

Advent Booklets are also available at the back of the church. The daily readings are adapted to modern day life with a message that everyone can relate to. The booklet helps us to actively prepare our hearts for the birth of the Christ Child on a daily basis so that Advent isn’t just “for Sunday only”. Donation of $1.00 to defray the cost of printing and postage greatly appreciated!

A special THANK YOU to all the volunteers and customers who helped make Saturday’s Flea Market such a success! As this is the last Flea Market for 2009, I would like to reiterate my thanks for all the behind-the-scenes work done by our wonderful volunteers – it is truly appreciated. See you next year!

In view of the current H1N1 Flu outbreak, the Archdiocese has issued a directive stating that Holy Communion will now be distributed only under one species (i.e. the Host). As well, please refrain from shaking hands with other parishioners during the Sign of Peace – a simple gesture of acknowledgment of your fellow parishioners is sufficient. It would also be prudent to avoid using the Holy Water font in church.

In keeping with the ongoing celebration of the Year of the Priest, let us consider the words of Pope Jean Paul II:

"Beloved, through Ordination, you have received the same Spirit of Christ, who makes you like Him, so you can act in His name and so that His very mind and heart might live in you. This intimate communion with the Spirit of Christ-- while guaranteeing the efficacy of sacramental actions which you perform in persona Christi-- seeks to be expressed in fervent prayer, in integrity of life, in the pastoral charity of a ministry tirelessly spending itself for the salvation of the brethren. In a word, it calls for your personal sanctification.

(I Will Give You Shepherds by John Paul II, on priestly formation)

Let us keep our clergy in prayer during this special year.
