St. Jean Baptiste Weekend
As we enter the last weekend before the Summer we must remind ourselves that this period when many take their vacation is a time not to forget our duties and responsibilities but to rest and renew ourselves in holiness. Whether busy or at rest we are Christians, followers of Jesus, and are called by God to rest in his presence. Vacation time is not a time to do nothing, but a time to discover new things, life giving things, things we may have ignored or put aside.
Jean Baptiste weekend marks a time when we celebrate our Quebec heritage, it is also important to remember the saint who put Christ first. As He states in the Gospels: “I must decrease and he must increase.” This is a pattern that all Christians are called to follow. This is the Pattern in which our Quebec heritage for so long taught us.
As we celebrate this feast, let us pray for a renewal of faith in Quebec and a good rest from the business of the year.
Have a great summer!
Fr. Stephen Otvos

Summer in Montreal
We are so blessed to live in a place where we have many green spaces, even a mountain in the middle of the city, as well as cultural festivals, open air activities, fireworks, bike paths galore all which are accessible to everyone and require no expense. What a great opportunity to spend quality time with your family.
