PRAYER FOR ADVENT
Spirit of God, You stir our hearts in the Advent season to awaken us from the spiritual doldrums. You urge us to be alert to the coming of the Lord, whether now or at the end of time. You invite us to embrace our longing for the fullness of a life without end. Enlighten our hearts with Your holy wisdom so that we might seek and find You, especially in the needs of the poor. Give us the courage and perseverance to look for the Holy One, who offers us more than the world can ever give. Amen.
Advent wreaths are once again available at the back of the Church, thanks to the dedicated hard work of Lynn & Peter Folco
who have generously given of their time and talents to provide Parishioners with an Advent Wreath suitable for family use at home. A limited number of twenty have been prepared, so be sure to make your purchase early to avoid disappointment. Why not start a tradition in your family and make special memories for your children and grandchildren as you prepare for the birth of Our Lord.
Donation of $5.00 to cover the cost of material appreciated!
In view of the current H1N1 Flu outbreak, the Archdiocese
has issued a directive stating that Holy Communion will now
be distributed only under one species (i.e. the Host).
As well, please refrain from shaking hands with other
parishioners during the Sign of Peace – a simple gesture
of acknowledgment of your fellow parishioners is sufficient.
It would also be prudent to avoid using the Holy Water font
Children’s Faith Formation
Parents with children whom they want to be
formed within the Catholic Faith, are invited
to register Sunday after Mass.
Marie Lafleche will be on hand to explain the
content of the program which is held on Saturday
morning at 9.00 a.m.
YEAR OF THE PRIEST
In keeping with the ongoing celebration of
the Year of the Priest, let us remember that
today, more than ever, the Priest, a man of the Divine Word and of the sacred, must be a man
of joy and hope. To people who can no longer conceive that God is pure love, He will always affirm that life is worth living and that Christ
gives it its full meaning because He loves
human beings – He loves them all.
(Pope Benedict XVI)
“In vocal prayer we speak to God, in mental
prayer He speaks to us. It is then that God
pours Himself to us”. (Blessed Mother Teresa)
Let us keep our clergy in prayer during
this special year.
