Experiencing Pentecost Today
Many people ask themselves why canít I live more fully? Why canít I be more aware of God and of my place in the world? How can I live more authentically, a life worth living?
Many seek the answers to these questions from other sources, through accomplishments, making millions of dollars a year, and extreme sports.
The faith of the church has always reminded us that in God we have a spiritual inheritance, that Jesus promised us the Holy Spirit. At our confirmation we received the gifts of the Spirit which allows us to participate in Godís life more fully. We received the gift of wisdom, understanding, knowledge, right judgment, wonder and awe of Godís presence, reverence, and courage.
These gifts are just waiting for us to activate them in our life. We often fail in our prayers to ask for grace. These gifts of the Spirit are the most worthy Spiritual power that we should ask for, as they help us experience godís life in our own. It is a way for us to connect with God in putting these gifts at the service of our community, and helping us to live to the fullest.
I propose that learning to live the life in the Spirit is a life truly lived to the full, a life worthy of daughters and sons of God.
