Operation Andrew here at St Willibrord February 26th
Operation Andrew is a week-long program of vocation awareness and discernment that helps men discover the unique and rich call to serve God’s people in the diocesan priesthood.
The inspiration for the fourth annual Operation Andrew comes from the story in the Gospel of John, in which Andrew leads Peter to Jesus. Though, Jesus calls Peter, he relies on Andrew who creates the environment in which Peter will hear the call of Jesus. This is the ultimate goal of Operation Andrew: to lead men to Jesus, so that He might call them for ministry in the Church. To accomplish this, Operation Andrew relies heavily on the cooperation of modern-day “Andrews” – the priests and laity of every parish.
The week of prayer begins with Operation Andrew Sunday, when priests are invited to highlight vocations during the homily and give witness to their own priestly vocation. The culmination of the event is a diocesan convocation on the following Saturday for the priests and the men who have been invited. This day consists of times for prayer, presentations on the priesthood by priests and laity, along with opportunities to meet and chat with the priests of the Archdiocese. This convocation is happening here at St. Willibrord and I invite all of you to pray for its success. We all have a part to play in helping people answer God’s call.

To that end, Challenge helps participants to grow in holiness, to evangelize other young adults, and to contribute to the parish life of the Church.
Everyone is welcomed to their closing Mass at 3:00pm. Please try to encourage them by attending and keeping them in your prayers.
