Dear Parishioners
As you May know, recently I had attended a conference on Vocation Ministry. Being appointed the new vocation director for the English community of Montreal this coming September, I decided to go to the D.V.D.C.(Diocesan Vocation Directors of Canada) conference in Ottawa from May 31rst to June 4th. The week was truly wonderful and helped me to situate myself in my new role as Vocations director Montreal.
Youth culture and vocations was presented by NET and CCO, who help young people discover the faith as adults. Their process is simple Evangelization, Conversion, and call to mission.
Vocations are among the youth who are discovering Godís call. As Vocation Director Iím to help them to discern what Godís call truly is for them is, particularly for men and the call to the priesthood.
Next week I am off on as second conference called: Pastoring in the 21rst century: skills for leading todayís parishes. This conference is about developing skill to minister more effectively to the community.
As Vocation Director of Montreal and Pastor of St Willibrord I ask for your prayers and collaboration with me that I may continue serve you and build a culture of vocations.
To understand more of about what the conference was about visit Fatherís blog on our parish website

Prayer for Fathers
God, let your light shine on these men whom we love, our Fathers. You made them in your image, and to us, they have tried to be as good as they are. Give them your wisdom, which is love wedded to truth, and give them strength and gentleness bonded together in their spirits.
Give them courage to carry us in our weakness and to let us walk when we must. Bless them, you who are Father, Son and Spirit. Amen.
Last Friday June 11, 2010, was the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and was the official closing of the year of the priest. Pope Benedict XVI gathered together with about 15 000 priests from around the world in St Peters square in Rome.
In answering a question from one of the priests, Pope Benedict gave a three tier program of renewal for priestly life.
First the Eucharist and the sacraments; to celebrate worthily is to allow them to be the visible expression of Godís love in the world. Second was to preach the word of God by all means, through conversations to homelies. The joy of the Gospel must inhabit your whole being. The third point is ďCaritas,Ē the Love of Christ, the priest is to be present to those who suffer, for the small, the children, for those in difficulty, for the marginalized and excluded. The priest must manifest the love of the Good Shepherd
