Soup Kitchen
On June 18, we will be ending another year of service at the hospitality centre. It was a busy year; we were serving 60-80 people each day. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our volunteers, helpers, students and Fr. Gerry Westphal who came and helped serve the lunch to our needy friends and neighbors. We are hoping to re-open our doors by the last week of September. This truly is a service to Christ when we help feed our community, as Jesus says "I was hungry and you gave me food"

First Communion
On this Feast day of Corpus Christi how wonderful to welcome our 5 young people to the table of our Lord for their First Eucharist. We would especially like to thank their families who have supported their children and literally journeyed with them.
Let us recognize:

YEAR OF THE PRIEST
At Ordination, the priest becomes a real image of Christ, he is betrothed to the Church, and he is given by God the sacred powers of administering the sacraments. When administering the sacraments, the priest acts in the person of Christ, and new life is generated within the Church: the new life of GRACE in the soul
Spiritually, the priest fathers us into mature life in Christ. Just as a family needs a father, we need priests. Just as a good husband and father undertakes countless sacrifices for his family, the priest lays down his life in service to the Church, giving not only his time, effort, and natural talents, but also an outpouring of sacramental grace.

O God, thou art my God,
I seek thee,
my soul thirsts for thee;
my flesh faints for thee,
as in a dry and weary land where no water is
