There are two vacancies on the Board of Wardens for the three-year period of 2010-2012. To be eligible to hold the position of Warden, you must be 18 years of age or older and live within the Parish boundaries (between Champlain Blvd. on the north side, to Desmarchais on the west side, to the railway tracks on the east and to Lasalle Blvd. on the south side, including Nun’s Island). The Election will take place following the 10.30 a.m. Mass this Sunday, January 17th in the Parish Hall. Nominations will be accepted verbally from the floor. Please consider being part of this important Parish organization – everyone has a talent to contribute and we count on you to help maintain the vibrant work being done here at St. Willibrord’s.

The first meeting of the newly-formed Parish Book Club will take place next weekend Saturday, January 23rd following the 5.00 p.m. Mass. A literary selection will be chosen from a suggested list of Catholic books, a light supper will be served and everyone is invited to share the evening with us. Please call the Office (769-9678) to indicate your attendance so that we can prepare sufficient food and copies of literature.

This week’s message is taken from the book “Dear Father” by Catherine de
Hueck Doherty:

“The Priest is a shepherd. He has a
flock given him by God. For this he
was ordained. God asks from his
Priests one thing: that he cleanse
his own soul, that he walk the path
of the Holy One. Now he falls down,
now he bruises himself, but the path
was made by God and so God is
around and will help the Priest to
stand up and to continue walking”.

Let us continue to pray for our Clergy during this Year of the Priest.
