Famous Thoughts on Prayer
“I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had absolutely no other place to go”.
“Often times God wants us to sit before Him in quietness. He doesn’t want us to do all the talking”. As Isaiah 30:15 says “In quiet and confidence will be your strength.”
The Daniel Fast: Repentance
“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord” (Acts 3:19)
Acknowledging our sin to the Lord at the beginning of a fast is crucial. If our hearts are not right, any fasting we do will be meaningless and in vain. The Lord will renew a right spirit in you, making you ready to undertake a fast that will be acceptable to him.
The Daniel Fast: Sincerity
If you want your fast to be pleasing to the Lord, begin by drawing near to him “with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith” (Heb 10:22). Examine your motives and ask the Lord to purify you from any unrighteous attitudes or behaviours. When the lord sees your genuine desire to honour him and to live a godly life, he will come near to you in return.

What is human dignity? It is the right to live without the threat of hunger; it is the right to fair and safe working conditions; it is the right to live on your own land; it is the right of women to be deemed equal in all areas of society. D&P along with its 90 partners around the world works to implement these rights every day by supporting our brothers and sisters throughout Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East, because, each and every one of us is made in God’s image. Look for the basket at the back of the church.
“Say not thy friend: Go and come again and tomorrow I will give to you, when you can give at present” (Prov 3:28)

St Patrick’s Day Parade
To mark the hundredth anniversary of our parish, we are looking for 50 people to sign up and join, with us, as we walk in the St Patrick’s parade on Sunday, March 17th. On this particular Sunday, Mass will be scheduled for 9:00 am so that we can all go to the parade and enjoy the day. Those who sign-up to walk with us will be carrying St Willibrord banners. Call the office, or look for a sign-up sheet at the back of the church.
p.s. EVERYONE is Irish that day!
