Ash Wednesday
Marks the first day, or the start of, the season of Lent. Lent is a time when Christian prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline. During Ash Wednesday services, the priest lightly rubs the sign of the cross, with ashes, onto the foreheads of worshipers to humble our hearts and reminds us that life passes away on Earth. Ashes are a symbol of penance made sacramental by the blessing of the church, and they help us develop a spirit of humility and sacrifice.
This year’s Mass will be held on Wednesday at 7pm
