St. Willibrord Statue
You may have noticed that our statue of our patron is missing. St Willibrord decided to go for some rest and renewal. He has noticed that due to his work schedule and devotion to us that some of his paint has been peeling and getting too dry. He will be back soon looking refreshed and renewed. He told me that his prayers are still with us while he is away. Fr. Otvos
The combined collection for Saturday
and Sunday - January 26th and 27th was $795.50.
Flea Market – Sat., Feb. 2nd
Our first flea market of the year was a great success! We thank all of our volunteers for their help and support. A special word of thanks to all the many merchants who continue to support us by renting tables and to the many community members who come and support us with their purchases and donations.
"Development and Peace Share Lent Campaign”
Due to the major government funding cuts to D&P, it is more important than ever that our Lenten fundraising be fruitful because the human dignity and survival of our sisters and brothers in the Global South will be directly related to it. D&P has 45 years of experience coordinating efficient and effective programs in partnership with those at the grassroots level to address the fundamental causes of poverty and injustice.
On Sat. Feb. 9th at 9:00 a.m. at the Diocese (2000 Sherbroooke W, parking in back), all parishioners and social action ministry parish reps are invited to a workshop to prepare for Lent, and to discuss how to run a good Share Lent campaign. We will also have presentations to understand how the changes to funding policies hurt our world's most vulnerable people. We will equip the participants with concrete examples of how parishioners' donations to Share Lent help, and we will talk about how this work arises out of the Scriptures and Catholic Social Teaching. Call Deacon Michael Di Girolamo to sign up or for more information at : 514-797-7051.
