Last weekend’s collection of December 8th and 9th amounted to $1,108.50. Additionally, $600.00 was collected for our brothers and sisters in the Philippines who suffered terribly from the recent flash floods. We will be forwarding a cheque along with our prayers of love and support to help those so desperately in need.
Please note that the office will be closed from Thursday, December 27th and will re-open on Thursday, January 3rd with regular business hours.
Being the third Sunday in the advent season when we light the rose candle on the Advent wreath, The Latin Gaudete is translated as Rejoice, the first word of the entrance antiphon of this day's Mass: ‘Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say rejoice! The Lord is near.’ The third Sunday of Advent emphasizes the joyous anticipation of the Lord's coming.

Thank-you for Supporting the Christmas Basket Fundraiser last Saturday
Thanks to everyone who made this year’s Christmas Basket Fundraiser a success. All the proceeds from ticket sales, raffles and the bar were donated to the Christmas Basket Fund! Thanks to Susan Charlebois and friends for an enjoyable evening – well over $3,000.00 was raised.
The Christmas Tree will be up with scrolls available for the taking – with next Sunday being the last day available to drop off your gifts. Any gifts left over or brought in at a later date will be given over to a women’s shelter for youngsters and/or a hospital or mission.
A photographer is needed to photograph and film this year’s Christmas Eve pageant. If interested, please call and ask to speak with Fr. Otvos.

Leave a message for Dan Orsmby or Marie Lafleche at (514) 769-9678. We really need you to make the evening’s re-enactment of the birth of our Lord come alive.
A Pre-Christmas Celebration
Next Sunday, December 23rd, (following the 10:30 a.m. Mass) you are invited to a pre-Christmas celebration for children and their families. Lunch will be provided followed by a movie, sing-a-long with a special visit from a couple of surprise guests.
Sale of our 100th Anniversary Chocolate Bars
Chocolate Bars will be available for sale from now until Christmas. You may wish to donate your purchase to the Christmas Baskets and make someone’s life a little sweeter by your donation or to the volunteers who will be hard at work in the days ahead – a way to say thank-you. A $2.00 gift will go a long way to brighten and sweeten – a wonderful giving gesture at this time of the year.
