May is the month of Mary, a good way to remember her is to pray the rosary daily.

Month of Mary
The month of May is the "month which the piety of the faithful has especially dedicated to Our Blessed Lady," and it is the occasion for a "moving tribute of faith and love which Catholics in every part of the world offer to the Queen of Heaven. During this month Christians, both in church and in the privacy of the home, offer up to Mary from their hearts an especially fervent and loving homage of prayer and veneration. In this month, too, the benefits of God's mercy come down to us from her throne in greater abundance" (Paul VI: Encyclical on the Month of May, no1)
This Christian custom of dedicating the month of May to the Blessed Virgin arose at the end of the 13th century. In this way, the Church was able to Christianize the secular feasts which were wont to take place at that time. In the 16th century, books appeared and fostered this devotion.
The practice became especially popular among the members of the Jesuit Order — by 1700 it took hold among their students at the Roman College and a bit later it was publicly practiced in the Gesu Church in Rome. From there it spread to the whole Church throughout the world.
With the view of honouring Our Lady, why not learn how to say the rosary, and commit yourself to saying the rosary daily throughout this month, or making a novena to our blessed mother for a special intention. Our new Archbishop invites us to join him at the Cathedral Mary Queen of the World every Monday night at 7:30pm to pray the rosary and receive a meditation on our mother the blessed Virgin Mary. May this month of Mary bring you renewed joy and peace, as we honour the mother of God.

Don’t forget to come and check out the flea markets, held on the 1st Saturday of every month! Got items to donate? Yes, we are still accepting donations of goods, such as household articles, but only on the day of the sale at which time they will be sorted and sold. We can no longer keep inventory on hand as we are continuing to use our basement for special events. Any goods left outside will be disposed of!
